Here, what little was left of the old cone has been removed from the speaker
basket. The voice-coil and spider have been rescued to be re-used. The speaker
is 7 inches in diameter, however, 7 inch cones are no longer available. The
new cone, which has a cloth surround, is 8 inches in diameter and was trimmed
to fit the basket. The voice-coil and attached spider were glued to the
voice-coil opening and then the cone assembly was installed into the basket.
The voice-coil was centered and held in place by the screw that fits
into the center of the spider and screws into the pole-piece. The edge of the
cone was then glued to the basket frame along with the gasket.
